I have never used a dechlorinator but would live to put one to use in our new family garden.
Wow after reading that review I can't wait to win! I moved from the land of well water on the East Coast to SoCal and town water, but never really thought about what it was doing to the soil. Thanks for keeping us informed!
I am just getting into organic gardening and this is a solution that I have been in need of!! We started a small garden this year and one of my first concerns was about the chlorine in the water. UGH!
Pick ME! Pick ME! = )
I use a filter for inside, I like this idea for the outside water.
Cool post, thanks!
I haven't used a dechlorinator... yet!
I feel all my hard work at composting and improving the soil could be justified by not having the chlorine kill off the beneficial microorganisms.
I use a dechlorinator for all our cooking and drinking water, but what a wonderful idea for the garden. I would be very excited to WIN one! hint hint....
I hope everyone has a great fall.
Sarah
I have never used one, but would love to give it a try and see where it goes.
I have never used a dechlorinator, but would like to. After reading a few of these comments, chlorine may be some of our problem. The chlorine in our water is so strong at times you come out of the shower smelling like bleach. It's aweful! I can just imagine why my garden isn't growing.
I'm a huge fan of the "Urban Homestead", the Derveas family, who lead me to this website
. We are working on putting their their homestead model on our five small acres. -Darla
No, I have never used a dechlorinator, but I would love to win one to use in my backyard garden.
I never have and honestly never thought about the issue! I am really interested in it now and would love to try and see what kind of difference it would make with our garden.
I've never used one but I've been looking at them online since we live in the city.
I had never even thought about this before... only been gardening for about 2 years... can't wait to try it out!
Thanks for the chance to win it!
I've always been worried about chlorine an how it can kill the beneficial bacteria. Now I know there's a way to solve this. I'd love to win and try it out! Thanks!
I would dearly love to have one of these. Despite incorporating 60 cu.ft. of compost into my yucky soil on the slope of my little cookie-cut house in the hills, I had somewhat mixed and fairly disappointing results again this year. I am convinced that the bad water in our area isn't helping! More (healthier) water and further soil amending has GOT to start paying off soon!
Thanks for the opportunity to win! Good luck to us all!
We use a filter for our cooking and drinking water, but have never used anything for the vegetable garden. Very interested. I have looked at filters for showering as well.
I've never used a dechlorinator, but would love to have one for my garden!
I have never used a dechlorinator. I have been watering my garden plants with rain water as much as possible to try and avoid chlorinated water from the hose, but that is not always possible. I would love to have a way to water my garden without worrying about chlorine.
We use a whole house filter, but I'm not sure if that filters the outside water. I felt a lightbulb go on in my head when I read the review. One of those, "I can't believe I haven't consider this" moments.
I use a dechlorinator filter for my shower because of the harmful effects on my hair...what a great idea to use on on the garden for those times when I don't have enough rainwater saved up!! I am keeping my fingers crossed that I win!!!
I have never used a dechlorinator filter, but I'd sure like to have a chance to prove how much better my veg. would grow. It seems a shame to do organic gardening and then water everything with chlorinated water. It can't be good for the garden.
I haven't used one, but I've always wanted to! It's so scary to think of the chemicals in our water. I love this idea and would love to try it!
I'm a fairly seasoned chemical-free gardener and up until reading your blog I had never even considered the very tap water that keeps my plants alive during summer could actually be harming our mini ecosystem in a way that does not make me excited at all. Although I've had a great amount of success for years with our gardens, there are one or two plants that just don't seem to be able to get their groove on - a couple of munchers that don't seem to have a natural enemy anywhere close by, which has left me a little stumped. Could our water be the culprit? With this type of gadget we can surely find out. Thanks for the giveaway!
Its an interesting concept. I wonder what the research says about the plants uptake of chlorine and other thinkgs from our water. I had heard at spin farming that we shouldn't use garden hoses but instead fishery or boating type hoses because of the chemicals inside the hoses.
What a great idea!!! Thank You!!!
I have never used a dechlorinator, but now I'm thinking they're necessary! This will be a great alternative until I can get rain barrels set up.
