Recently I became single again. I have one dog and a cat. Both of my parents are still living and I have a sister of whom I am very proud of.
About Me:
I'm a simple, easy-going guy. I like the simple things in life. I appreciate each day and look forward to tomorrow no matter what it might hold.
I never had much interest in gardening until I came home from the Marines. My grandmother loved gardening with a passion. But at her age she just couldn't do it anymore. So I volunteered to do it for her, it made her so very happy. It was a student/ Mentor relationship in regards to gardening. I didn't know anything and she taught me all I know from her 70+ years of experience. Her family raised their own food just to survive in those days. Her family came to Indiana from Missouri in 1922 looking for work. About 80% of what I know came from her. The rest came from much study and a good library books.
I love it now. I like to think that she lives on through my efforts. I still have some of the flowers that she had had in her garden (perennials). It is just a sweet reminder of a wonderful lady.
Interests:
I like gardening, researching alternative energy, recycling, and planning a future move to a larger piece of ground. I like to play my dulcimer and listen to bluegrass music. I like a lot of different types of music too. I like to read, non-fiction and books dealing with homesteading, gardening, fishing, hiking, camping etc.
