WOW! Rain in May! How did that happen? Usually we have a bit of rain towards the end of April then nothing till the 3rd week of July when the monsoon finally manages to come over my place. The exceptions have been around this time of May tho, one year a terrific hail storm that beat everything into the ground.We got 4 /10s of an inch during the day, it cleared off a bit and the sun shone awhile, then it started to sprinkle again. My 150 gallon rain barrel was more than 1/2 full just on the little bit we got today. There would have been more but a few days ago I drained what was left all on the apple tree and forgot to shut the valve afterwards. Tho it was filling up faster than it was running out.

Isn't it fantastic? We're only getting sprinkles down here.

I'm just stoked it's cooled off a little bit.

Wow, even more rain today! I got another tenth of an inch overnight and 3/10s today so that's 8/10, darn near an inch of rain in the last 24 hours. Doin' the happy dance.

Well, this is certainly a weird weather year. Most years the monsoon teases me for weeks, raining all around me, with nary a drop at my place. Well I woke up about 4 this morning hearing the rain run into the water tank. I haven't checked the quage yet, but we probably got a couple of tenths so far and it is still cloudy out there.....
